New Hard Drive

Home from holidays for less than 24 hours and I get a call to say that my new hard drive is in and ready to collect. I’m currently running my computer back up and installing all my applications and customisations. *grrr* MSN is not downloading for some reason….

More information on the holiday will be posted when I get the computer completed :)

Home delivery gets taken out.

Being the last night at home before our holidays we couldn’t be bothered cooking so we ordered take away for dinner. The delivery turned up almost an hour after we ordered. We weren’t overly concerned about the delay, except that we were rather hungry. For some reason the delivery “driver” was riding a scooter. The reason for the delay, he slid out and stacked it on the way over. Luckily the poor bugger wasn’t too injured. Perhaps they should invest in a car for their delivery drivers…. it might be safer!

Holidays!

Yay for holidays. I’ve officially started my holiday and am unimpressed at the feeling of guilt I have for leaving the other guys at work to cope with things as they currently are. I wont go into details, but suffice to say I feel that I have left guys at possibly the worst time.

As for the holiday itself, I am so looking forward to this time away it amazes me. This is the first holiday that I have had in over a year, and the longest that I have had at one time in many years. Tonight we are flying to Tasmania for 2 weeks with my mother. I think Mum might be looking forward to this more than we are. She came up to Brisbane just after Kira was born. She’s not seen Kira since then except through photos.

This will be my first time in Tassie in about 8 years, and the first time for Stacey and Kira. There should be plenty of photos from the trip.

Computer Go BANG!

Not Happy!

Not happy at all! The power supply in my main desktop shat itself on Friday. Unfortunately it appears that it decided to take some other components with it. I’m not yet sure exactly what else is damaged, but the first 2 posibilities are my hard drive and my motherboard. Either the hard drive is toast, or something on the motherboard just isn’t what it used to be as it no longer recognises my 200Gb SATA drive.

I’m taking the drive to work tomorrow to see if one of the SATA capable machines there is able to access it. If not, I’ve lost the contents of the drive - thankfully the really important stuff is on one of the servers. If it can, obviuosly something else is wrong with my computer.
