I have a LGA775 P4 in my main computer. I bought it just as the LGA775 processors were coming onto the market. Foolish, I know but I was hoping to have a computer that would at least last a while before becoming too weak. Let me say this, the stock cooling that came with it is CRAP. It is so noisy that I can hardly hear myself think. I’ve put up with it for far too long, and with summer coming up I know it is only going to get worse.

I’ve decided to purchase a new after market cooler and have spent some time looking into the different options. I was starting to lean towards the Hyper 48 from Cooler Master until someone pointed out the Freezer 7 from Arctic Cooling.

I was confident that both would be suitable for my needs, but at nearly twice the price and close to twice the weight as well I chose the Freezer 7. I’ve just placed my order with CoolPC and will probably post some form of review after I have installed the beast.
